Pakistani Girls Discussing Higher Education System

Pakistan, the world’s sixth most populous country and part of the Indian sub-continent, was one of the earliest centers of human civilization and culture, with a history dating back to the second millennium BC to the time of the Indus Valley Civilization. Girls’ education is not given so much importance in Pakistan as compared to that of sons. Girls are not treated well in homes due to their feminism. They don’t enjoy the basic human rights of good food, education, health and freedom.

Pakistan, formerly a part of a colony of English, still has some legacies of “British Raj”. Its educational system is one of the examples. Both Pakistan and India, with some modifications, have the Educational Setup introduced by the British decades ago, a structure as deemed fit by the colonists.

A country can ignore the importance of higher education only at its peril. The government of Pakistan has therefore set up the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan in 2002 in order to revamp the higher education system in Pakistan. The Higher Education Commission (HEC), formerly the University Grant Commission, is the primary regulator of higher education in Pakistan. It also facilitates the development of higher educational system in Pakistan. Its main purpose is to upgrade the Universities of Pakistan to be centres of education, research and development.
