British Pakistanis are citizens of the United Kingdom whose ancestral roots lie in Pakistan. The UK has the second largest overseas Pakistani population after Saudi Arabia. Pakistanis make up a large subgroup of British Asians largely due to historical and colonial links and Pakistan still being part of the Commonwealth of Nations. The British Pakistani population is very diverse and differs from region to region.

British Pakistanis are victims of the North-South divide in Britain. British Pakistanis Bat For Lashes is the work of British singer / songwriter, multi- instrumentalist and visual artist Natasha Khan. Natasha Khan also known by her stage name “Bat for Lashes“, is a British musician. As a musician she sings and plays the piano, guitar, harpsichord and the autoharp.

Khan was born in London on 25 October 1979. Until the age of five she was raised in Wembley where her parents had met and married several years before. However her father, Rehmat Khan, a former professional squash player, decided to relocate the family to the commuter town of Rickmansworth in Hertfordshire to help with his coaching of future squash world open winner Jahangir Khan, Natasha’s uncle.

During her teens Khan was also a victim of racism. Speaking about her time in after-school clubs she claimed “the kids there totally ripped me to shreds.” This rejection led Khan to rebel, making the decision to “bunk off” school and stay at home listening to music. Khan graduated in music and visual arts, while at university her experimental work was influenced by artists such as Steve Reich and Susan Hiller, and she produced multi-media work centred on sound installations, animations and performance.

As I think British Pakistani girls prefer to marry in the UK; Europe both ways arranged marriage or love marriage. But Girls are married in many cases against there will by parents. In rare cases even girls have been killed. Every girl prefers to many as per will either in a love marriage or arranged marriage. Asian girls brought up in USA, UK prefer to marry there. Very few marry in Asia due to cultural differences.

But I am a British Pakistani and I would definitely marry a guy from Pakistan!! Me and a guy from Pakistan just work out…there’s a lot of cultural differences and the way but we think approachable different!
